ACGME Certified Physician specialized in Nephrology (Kidney) and Endo-Vascular (Veins and Arteries) interventions, dedicated to serving the underserved communities of the Los Angeles basin.
I am a native Angelino and understand the demographic makeup and inherent medical needs of my patients. My purpose in life is to make a difference in my community—the Los Angeles basin—where there are a large number of underserved families in such dire need of specialized medical care.
My wonderful parents always taught me to help the less fortunate around me, and I have always tried to follow their lead in this regard. I've been honored to receive numerous philanthropic awards and recognition for pro bono medical services rendered over the past decade.

Dr. Serrano holds the distinction of being the first physician in the United States to have obtained a subspecialty fellowship certificate from an ACGME accredited fellowship program for interventional nephrology—a unique subspecialty involving vascular interventions, from repairing veins and arteries to placing wires in the human heart to place stents and open up major vessels.
"My life's mission is to cure and I am here to serve all."
— Dr. Serrano
Despite having achieved many educational goals, Dr. Serrano was not convinced that he had the necessary tools to help the sickest people in his community. This drove him to specialize in kidney disease and later sub-specialize in endovascular interventions—which are now his true passion.
As a fully bilingual (Spanish) physician, Dr. Serrano provides a high level of understanding to the many Angelinos in the inner city who suffer from kidney disease and/or those who require vascular or interventional procedures.
